Before you start
Confirm these four things before you start clicking. Chasing any of them down mid-install wastes time — they're each a one-minute check.

| PCA or Org Owner permissions | Installing extensions into an Azure DevOps organization requires Project Collection Administrator (PCA) or Organization Owner level access. You'll need this for the extension install step. The licensed-users group and Stakeholder access steps also require PCA. If you don't have these permissions, identify who in your organization does and ask them to perform those steps. |

OKRsignal is free to install and comes with a 30-day free trial. During your free trial, you have an unlimited number of user licenses. After the trial ends, you will need to purchase a license for every named user who wants to edit/update OKRsignal. OKRsignal will give you advance warning that your trial is about to end and will prompt you to purchase licenses. You can see how many User/Editor licenses your Organization is currently using by looking on the Licensing tab in OKRsignal's configuration screen. | An Azure DevOps organization | You need an existing ADO organization. The CXOsignal extension is installed at the org level and becomes available to every project inside it. You don't need to install it per-project. If you don't have an ADO org yet, create one before proceeding. |

OKRsignal is the UI for creating and updating your OKRs along with Signals that monitor each OKR's data. You will need to install and configure the CXOrelay widget to send email notifications. If you don't plan to use email notifications, you don't need to install and configure CXOrelay. You can use OKRsignal stand-alone. The true power of CXOsignal is its ability to proactively notify you when things go off track. We strongly recommend that you install CXOrelay after you've captured your OKRs using OKRsignal. When you are ready, follow the Install CXOrelay guide to set up CXOrelay for notifications. Setting up CXOrelay requires additional IT Admin work (an Entra app registration and a service account), so loop in your IT admin early if you have one. |
