Install the CXOsignal dashboard extensions

This step must be performed by an Organization Owner or a member of the Project Collection Administrators group. If you don't have this permission, ask your administrator to perform this step.

Open the Visual Studio Marketplace

Go to marketplace.visualstudio.com/azuredevops in your browser. You can also reach the Marketplace from within Azure DevOps by clicking the shopping bag icon in the top-right corner of any page.

Find CXOsignal

Type CXOsignal in the search box and press Enter. Select the CXOsignal extension from the search results.

Click "Get it free"

On the CXOsignal extension page, click the Get it free button. You will be prompted to sign in with your Microsoft account if you are not already signed in.

Select your Azure DevOps organization

From the dropdown, select the Azure DevOps organization where you want to install CXOsignal. The extension is installed at the organization level and will be available to all projects within it.

Click Install

Review the permissions requested by the extension, then click Install. Installation takes a few seconds.

Approve the permissions requested by CXOsignal

After clicking Install, Azure DevOps displays a permissions consent screen listing the access the CXOsignal extension needs. Review the list and click Accept to grant consent.

CXOsignal requests the following permissions:

  • Work items (read and write) — to create and update OKRs, link Epics, and track Issues
  • Identity (read) — to identify OKR Owners and team members by name
  • Project and team (read) — to access project structure, teams, and area paths
  • Dashboard (read and write) — to display and refresh the OKRsignal and CXOrelay widgets
  • Extensions (read) — to verify the extension is correctly installed before enabling widget features
  • Entitlements (read) — to check license and access level assignments for users in your organization

If your organization enforces a third-party application policy, the consent screen may not appear automatically. In that case, go to Organization Settings → Security → Policies and confirm that Third-party application access via OAuth is enabled.

Confirm the installation

Click Proceed to organization. To confirm, go to Organization Settings → Extensions — CXOsignal should appear in the installed extensions list. The extension is now available across your organization.
