Grant Stakeholder access
Who this is for
Stakeholders are executives and senior leaders who need to view OKR dashboards but will not create or update OKR data. They do not need a CXOsignal licence — they only need access to the Azure DevOps project that hosts the dashboard.
Identify your stakeholders
Make a list of the executives and senior leaders who should be able to view OKR dashboards. These are typically the people who receive email alert notifications, don't currently have access to your ADO Organization or Project, and might want to look at an OKR dashboard after receiving a notification email.
Add each stakeholder to your Azure DevOps Organization
Login to Azure DevOps and go to Organization Settings → Users.
Check to see if any of your Stakeholders already have an ADO account. If they do, make sure they have at least Reader permissions.
For people who do not have an account, click Add Users and enter the stakeholders' email addresses. Assign each person Stakeholder access level.
The free ADO Stakeholder access level is sufficient for viewing dashboards. They do not need a paid ADO license.
Using the Add to projects drop-down, give them access to all the projects containing OKR dashboards.
Share the dashboard URL
Before testing to confirm that your Stakeholders can access your OKR dashboards, you will need to create an OKR by placing the OKRsignal widget on a dashboard. See Define the Objective for instruction on how to do this.
Once you're done, navigate to the OKR dashboard in Azure DevOps and copy the URL from your browser's address bar. Send this link directly to each stakeholder.
Tip: name the dashboard clearly (for example, "Increase MRR - 2026") so stakeholders can find it easily if they navigate to the project themselves.
Ask each stakeholder to confirm access
Have each stakeholder open the dashboard link and confirm they can see the OKRsignal widget. If a stakeholder sees a permissions error, verify that their email address was added correctly in Organization settings and that the dashboard is set up to give them access.
