Add the same OKR to multiple dashboards

This article explains how to show a single OKR on more than one Azure DevOps dashboard using a Follower widget. The OKR is edited in one place (the Master); the Follower displays a live read-only copy on any additional dashboard.
When to use this
A cross-functional OKR often belongs on multiple dashboards. For example, an OKR owned by the Product team might also need to appear on the Engineering team dashboard and the company-wide executive summary. Rather than creating separate widgets and keeping them in sync manually, you create one Master and as many Followers as you need.
This pattern is also useful when a team operates across more than one ADO project and wants the same OKR visible in each project's dashboard.
Identify the Master widget
The Master widget is the one that already has the OKR data — Title, Objective, Key Results, and any Decisions or Notes. There should be exactly one Master per OKR. If the OKR does not exist yet, set it up first by following Define Objective properties.
Note the dashboard the Master lives on — you will identify it by name when configuring the Follower.
Navigate to the dashboard where you want to add the OKR
In Azure DevOps, open the dashboard where you want the additional OKR widget to appear. Click Edit to enter edit mode, then click Add a widget. Search for OKRsignal and add it. Resize and position it as needed.
Configure the new widget as a Follower
Hover over the newly added widget, click the "..." menu, and select Configure.
On the Objective tab, locate the Widget type control at the top and select Follower. The standard Objective fields are replaced by a single "Link as follower of:" dropdown.
Open the dropdown and select the Master widget for this OKR. Masters are listed by their OKR title and the dashboard they belong to. Click Save.
Verify the Follower displays the correct data
The Follower widget immediately shows a read-only copy of the Master OKR — including title, owner, Key Results, signal colour, and status. Confirm that the data matches what you see on the Master.
The Master widget's grey footer now shows the updated Follower count, confirming the link is established.
Repeat for any additional dashboards
You can add as many Follower widgets as you need. Each one points to the same Master. When the OKR Owner updates Key Results or changes the signal colour on the Master, all Followers reflect the change automatically.
The OKR now appears on multiple dashboards
Viewers on any dashboard with a Follower see the same live OKR data. The OKR Owner edits only on the Master — there is no manual synchronisation required.
